General Help
Here are some general instructions for using the new ArtsWeb system. These will be expanded upon as time goes on.
The new ArtsWeb system is based on WordPress but with a custom editor to edit the contents of your page. When you are set up on the new ArtsWeb, we will let you know the URL, username and password to use to log into the back end admin. This is where you will be able to add, amend and delete pages from your web site.
When you first log in, you will see the main WordPress dashboard screen. There are lots of options on this screen which we will go further into at a later date, but the main one you want to go into is in the top left hand corner of the screen which shows your web site name. Click on this and then Visit Site to view your web site. You can then navigate your web site as you normally would. If you would like to edit the page you are currently viewing then click on TheArtsWeb Builder in the top admin bar (i.e. not the Edit Page option). This will bring up the page in edit view and allow you to add, remove and edit content that is on that page.
You can edit text or other content by clicking into the content and amending it...
To add extra content, for example a new text box, just drag and drop the relevant content type to where you want it on screen. You can also drag this content to other areas of the screen...
The editor is based on rows and columns. When you add or move content, you can drag it to a new row or a new column and then freely adjust column sizes etc...
Rows can also have a background - Whether it's a colour or an image. Just go into the properties of the row for options...
Once you’re done editing the page, click on Done in the top right hand corner and then Publish or Discard depending on what you want to do. You can also save as a draft if you don't want to publish the new page just yet but want to save what you've done so far.
There are lots of components available in the editor, including text boxes, pictures, galleries, videos etc. We will be providing further information on each one in due course but in the meantime, try them out and see how they work.
